Sean joined our firm in December 2000 and became a partner in 2007. Her practice is largely focused on employment discrimination cases and leave issues. She also handles wage claims, contract disputes, severance negotiations and labor arbitrations. Sean is fluent in spoken and written Spanish and welcomes referrals and clients who are Spanish speaking. She has presented at numerous professional conferences and has been named a Rising Star by Washington Law & Politics.

Sean is a current member of the Executive Committee of the Labor and Employment Section of the Washington State Bar Association, past co-chair of the Washington State Trial Lawyers’ Association Employment Section, a Board Member of King County Washington Women Lawyers, and a member of the Washington Employment Lawyers Association (WELA) as well as the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA). In addition, Sean is a founding member of the Laurel Rubin Farm Worker Justice Project, a non-profit organization that funds summer internships for law students to represent farm workers in central and eastern Washington State.

Sean received her B.A. from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and earned her J.D. from the City University of New York (CUNY) Law School. Immediately after law school, Sean worked in the Yakima office of Columbia Legal Services, where she represented farm workers in a range of employment matters, with a particular focus on addressing occupational exposures to pesticides. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Sean lived and worked in various parts of the world, including Chile, Costa Rica, Switzerland, and Ivory Coast. She has served on the Board of Directors of Cedar River Clinics, a statewide women’s reproductive health care clinic, since 1998.
